The UWI served as the Lead Executing Agency for the Regional Biosafety Project and along with the Caribbean Agricultural Health and Food Agency (CAHFSA) will contribute to the sustainability of porjct outputs. CAHFSA for example will assume responsibility for biosafety regulation at the regional level, while the UWI be involved in the development of curricula to support the capacity needs of CARICOM Member States with respect to biosafety, among other things. CAHFSA and the UWI will also be involved in jointly managing the regional biosafety clearinghouse mechanism (rBCH), developed under the project.
